Just leaving my mother- in-law’s for the family get together and wishing I could get some work done. Usually I drive, but I am so sick of driving and I made Jay this time.

On the way up I was able to read most of a new book I got called Perfect Phrases for the Sales Call. I probably never would have found the time to read it otherwise. Originally I got this one to help with my AVON business, but I think it will apply to my hosting business very well and plan to implement some ideas it has given me this week.

Now on the way home I plan to finish it after he gets on the interstate so I can turn on the light. But for now I am blogging here on my amazing DroidX, dubbed by my cub scouts as my “pocket laptop.” I just finished replying to a helpdesk ticket also with my android app for WHMCS giving my customer a response 4 hours earlier than if I checked my helpdesk as soon as I got home.

Anyway, I really hope these new books will give me what I am looking for in regards to motivation and a good starting point to learning how to expand my business. Yeah, I am motivated now. But when I get home and have choices other than work will I follow through?

Yep, that’s why I’m here. My Facebook is not safe. There are some people on Facebook that would take my mention of recent events for cowardess. Am I a coward? No. Am I human and do I need to vent? Yes. I’m not sure where her feelings came from exactly, but obviously there are two sides to every story and she’s fully ignorant on my side of it. It’s fine if you want to think negatively toward me. Also fine if you have a problem with me you feel you need to address. But there’s no reason to jump on Facebook and make childish, yet mostly vague, comments about me or to me. I am excited that the kids don’t know about the crap going on between the adults, but now her comments are visible for all to see – including the kids. I wonder what she was thinking?

So my question is.. why do you feel stating nasty comments on Facebook is the route to take with this? Why would someone not come to me and say, “Hey. This is how I feel and this is why”? Or take a few steps back and let me know what’s going on before you let it fester into a ball of hate? I’m so sick of this crap.

I was very surprised to hear from my doctor that I have shingles. Not only did I not understand what it was, I thought only older people got it. Apparently, it is induced by stress. You can get it if you’ve had chickenpox or the chickenpox vaccination in the past.

It started as a very annoying migraine, but was only in the left side of my head. It felt like my eye was popping out of its socket. The pain reached up around the back of my head and went down the left side of my neck. After a few days I got this red rash above my eyebrow, it looked almost like a heat rash. A few days later the white in my eye turned red. Along with some high blood pressure and a high temperature. So I went to the doctor again for the second time in a week. She didn’t even finish listening to my list of symptoms. Looking at the rash on the top of my eye she told me that it was shingles and got me started on some anti virals. I’ve been slowly getting better since then.

Thankfully being sick kind of pulls back on some of my responsibilities. People don’t want me around because they’re afraid I’m contagious and others feel sorry for me and tell me to relax. That’s probably just what I needed. Thank goodness for that.

I should’ve known that 1,000mg of Tylenol wasn’t going to help. The past few nights I’ve gotten migraines and because it’s nighttime I don’t want to take my Excedrin Migraine with caffeine. Usually I’m okay when I wake up, so last night’s was a little worse and I took some Tylenol in the hopes it would work. It certainly did not. This morning at about 5:30am I couldn’t take it any more. I had to take some Excedrin. Jay even spent 10 minutes rubbing my back, neck, and temples trying to help me get just a little relief. Of course now that I finally took the medicine I feel better, but I can’t sleep. Maybe I don’t need to but I sure would like to. You know, when you’re a kid.. you fight sleep. But when you grow up.. gosh it’s like the best thing ever.

These migraines are getting more frequent and it’s telling me it’s time for a lifestyle change. I was thinking about starting yoga again. When I did it a few years ago I felt so much better and the migraines almost completely disappeared. I turned on the TV the other day and found that Inhale is no longer on Oxygen. Bummer! So I guess I’ll need to figure something else out. There’s a yoga studio around here somewhere – I may need to do that. It’s just kind of expensive and money is amazingly tight right now.

The economy has been tough on many small businesses lately. My accountant recently told me he’s looking into selling his office and working from his home because a lot of his clients have gone out of business. Mine has been open for 8 years and I don’t intend to close any time soon! My boys even think they’re going to take it over when they get older and they’re looking forward to it. It would be awesome to have a family business I could pass down. Pretty soon, they’ll be able to help me with tech support! Haha.
