Back From D.C.
The family went to DCÂ last weekend. We went to a few museums and went to a military exibit that was only up for the weekend. I got a lot of pictures, some of which I intend to put up today.
I have this one picture of the Museum of Natural History where on the sign it says “Your Are Here.” I think that was the highlight of the entire trip. It was about 10 hours driving each way. Not really sure it was worth it. Though, I enjoyed the time with Michael. He listened to my iPod with me, which is dying. I ended up trading iPods with Jay when he thought the Mini was dead and took my Nano. I prefer the Mini, but its battery has suffered.
Sunday night we went to the National Law Enforcement Memorial for the Candlelight Vigil. It was really moving. I like being a part of something like that, honoring the memories of those who died to save others. Jay appreciated me going and thanked me, which was really unexpected. Then on our way home on Monday we went to the new Air and Space Museum hoping to see Spiderman 3 on iMax, but alas, it wasn’t playing until much later in the day. And there was no way I was going to stay that long and not get Michael home until 4am. I liked the old Air and Space Museum a bit more than the new one. The new one was pretty boring.
Jay wants to go back for the Vigil each year, so maybe we will. Maybe next time we’ll go back during the entire police week. Money was just a bit too tight this time around.
In a way it sounds your trip to D.C. was a disappointment for the most part. Sorry to hear that. It would have been cool to see Spiderman 3 on iMax.
Spiderman 3 is great, but sad.
I would love to see it on iMax.
I wish I could go some where other than the ER >:O
I didn’t have high hopes for DC, so I wasn’t disappointed. But the first day both my ankles were raw and I had to start hobbling. I ended up buying some Target brand Crocs just so I could walk the next day.
My ankle’s still hurt..
I iPod battery has suffered over the (almost) 3 years it’s been in use. It only seems to last 2-3 hours now, until needing recharging, which is annoying!
DC sounds cool, I’ve always wanted to go there!
Most people have been saying they didn’t find Spidy 3 that great… I haven’t seen it myself personally.
Ahh, it’s been a while since I’ve been to DC… Over a year, now that I think about it!
I’m glad that you at least found a few interesting/inspiring things to make the trip not a total wash… Next time, you should check out the National Zoo (they have a fairly young panda there, it was a baby last year!). It’s pretty fun…
that’s really neat. i’ve never been to DC. i’d love to see the natural history museum. i really like stuff like that.
I bought the actual crocs from models OH MY GOD THEY ARE COMFORTABLE *slaps* you need some only $29.99 … IS YOUR BIRTHDAY COMING UP ?? *coughs*
I never go to museums. Unless they show something weird like Easter egg art or something xP Uhm… Spiderman is good ^^
